CalPal respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard the information you provide when you use our mobile application CalPal (the “App”), available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

2.1 Camera & Photo Library
• With your permission, we access your device’s camera and photo library so you can capture or select food images for nutritional analysis.
• Images you capture or select are transmitted securely for processing and then discarded once analysis is complete (unless you explicitly choose to save or share results).
2.2 In-App Purchase Data
• We offer paid subscriptions and in-app upgrades via Apple In-App Purchase, Google Play Billing and RevenueCat.
• We do not collect or store your credit card or payment details; billing is handled directly by those platforms.
2.3 AI & Back-End Services
• To power food recognition and nutritional analysis, images and metadata are sent to our SDKS and to our back-end (Firebase).
• We store minimal data necessary to deliver and improve the service (e.g. hashed identifiers, anonymized usage logs).
3. How We Use Your Information
• Provide and personalize the App’s core functionality (image analysis, nutritional breakdown).
• Maintain, improve, troubleshoot, and secure our service.
• Manage subscriptions, billing, and customer support requests.
• Communicate with you about updates, features, and promotional offers (if you opt in).

4.1 Service Providers
• Firebase (Google) – for secure back-end data storage and analytics.
• SDKS – for image processing and nutritional analysis.
• RevenueCat – for subscription management and in-app purchases.

• Push Notifications: You can opt out in your device’s notification settings.
